A ready-to-wear brand a batch of 5,000 skirts; on their delivery to the brand’s warehouses, a wash test revealed that the skirts were subject to shrinkage but that the linings, which were made of a different fabric, were not. This meant that, after washing, the lining ended up longer than the skirt: this represented a real problem, since the skirts were consequently unsaleable.
At this point, Berry Services intervened. Berry Services proposed and implemented a solution: Berry Services collected the 5,000 skirts from the brand’s warehouse, shortened the skirts’ linings, created a hem finished with satin stitching and redelivered the 5,000 skirts to the brand’s warehouse.
Within a few days, the problem was solved, the goods had been “rescued” and the brand was able to offer the items for sale.
This operation represented over 500 hours’ work, which was carried out by experienced seamstresses.
