Created in October 1998, Berry Services in Neuvy-Saint-Sépulchre has a bright future ahead of it.
It must be said that the young company, which has eight employees, is firing on all cylinders: “The idea is to receive products in bulk, package them and then send them back. As such, the manufacturer can focus on their expertise without having to worry about packaging.”
The company’s flagship product is shrink film, used to bind items together—a widely-used process, particularly for wrapping promotion packs.
Berry Services can then add a tag to these packs, such as ‘two for the price of one’, thus providing a comprehensive service.
But the company is able to work on demand— so much so that it has had to expand its service offer:
“We cover all sectors, and so we have had to adapt to each of our customers. For example, we also do plastic film packaging, precision assembly and at the same time, in the clothing sector, we do inspection, packaging, labelling and even minor alterations on garments of clothing. Many garments are made in countries with low labour costs, and when they arrive, they can sometimes have defects. So, instead of returning them, which would be too expensive, the importers send them to us. In fact, we are specialised in having an unskilled workforce”.
Not content to stop there, Jean-Claude Benéteau plans to invest in equipment to carry out sorting and mailing.
After a year devoted to the launch, other markets are in prospect, which should ensure the company's future (with the objective of achieving a turnover of 2 million francs).
Especially since the company’s sector of activity is not very developed—in the Indre département, we have no competitors. In Orléans, however, there are a large number of businesses like us that work with cosmetics companies. They are closer to the contractors. We must make ourselves known in Indre because, for this type of activity, proximity is one of the keys to success.”
