Freeing zips

Just as they were being put on the shelves, a ready-to-wear brand found that the fly zips on a number of batches of trousers were stuck or difficult to move.

The brand contacted Berry Services who devised and implemented a solution that would make the trousers saleable.

Using an iron to apply jets of steam to both sides of the zip, whilst keeping the zip hot, Berry Services’ operators managed to free the zips on the 10,000 pairs of trousers affected by the issue.

This very physical operation represented over 600 hours’ work.
