The delivery of a Spanish supplier to a French ready-to-wear brand was rejected by the brand's warehouse because it had used packages that did not comply with the warehouse's specifications.
The supplier had packed its articles in 600x300x400 boxes, whereas to be in compliance with the specifications, 600x400x300 boxes should have been used; the boxes should not have been higher than they were wide so as not to risk tipping over during the transfer on the warehouse’s motorised conveyors.
The supplier therefore had the whole shipment (three trucks worth) delivered to Berry Services who proceeded to bring the packages into compliance. The Berry Services teams replaced each of the 1,250 boxes, created and printed all the package labels with the bar codes, labelled the new boxes according to the specifications, put the pallets back together and wrapped them in film, and organised delivery to the brand's warehouse.
Such a service requires in-depth knowledge of warehouse specifications, the availability of suitable supplies in stock and a high level of responsiveness in order to be able to re-deliver to the customer as soon as possible.
