Replacing boot elastic

For a supplier of a French ready-to-wear brand, on a batch of 1,200 stretch fabric boots, we replaced the elastic on the top part of the boot upper, which had been fitted too tightly.

To do this, we had to cut the top part of the boot, reposition a new elastic at the correct length, restitch the hem surrounding the elastic and apply a finishing stitch with a zigzag stitch.

This involved an operating time of about 12 minutes per pair, or about 240 hours of work to be performed in the space of a few days.

Without the work of Berry Services, the unsaleable boots would have been sent away to be destroyed.
